LUXURY HOMES, THE ULTIMATE LIFESTYLE GOAL
Luxury homes, the ultimate lifestyle goal. To own a home has always been the most cherished dream of India’s rapidly growing middle-class. In the last decade or so, the country’s thriving economy has created tremendous growth opportunities for all. So much so that an unprecedented number of consumers have moved into the upper middleclass bracket. This phenomenon has created a healthy market for luxury homes in the country. Bengaluru, one of the county’s favorite metro cities to live and work in, has a robust market for luxury homes. These days ‘luxury’ seems to be high up on the list of India’s upper middle class. And flaunting it is no longer seen as something ostentatious. After the exotic holidays and that beautiful dream car, India’s nouveau riche is passionately chasing their dream of a luxe home. As a builder of boutique homes in Bengaluru, I have often thought about luxury as a concept.
Luxury means different things to different people. The meaning of luxury is different for different people. For me, luxury homes essentially are about three things. They are comfort, quality and sophistication. And of course, location. Modern luxury homes are a classy affair, built with the finest materials, designed to look elegant and full of thoughtful touches that make all the difference in the long run. Boutique, high class homes are also about space, large airy rooms, excellent natural lighting and amenities, etc. Though they tend be larger than 3,000 sq ft, luxe homes can come in different sizes. Apart from the sizes, their location is another important aspect. They tend to be located in CBD areas of various metro cities, or in some highly sought-after residential areas. Exceptional amenities too are par for the course here. Features like a spa, home theater, a sky lounge, rooftop swimming pool, personal gym, etc., are part of the experience. While as builders, we may take all the pains to create beautiful high-end homes for our customers, I believe that finally it is the residents of a home that actually bring alive the home. The space inside the homes, the interior design, the furniture, the colors, the curios, etc. everything adds up to make that sophisticated impact which can be summed up as uber living. One of the positive trends that I also like personally is that of minimalism. Minimalism is a very sophisticated concept of luxury that was born is Europe decades ago.
A minimalist home is clutter-free, with accent on certain aspects that create an elegant impression. On the other hand, many people also find luxury in heavy interiors, ornate furniture, etc. The touch of luxury can be given to the living room, the bedroom, the kitchen and the bathrooms as well. I’d like to quickly share a few things I have noticed about luxury home interiors. So, the concept of luxury varies from person to person. And a luxurious touch can be given to living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and yes, even bathrooms. The living room is the beehive of the family. This is where the family spends the maximum time together. Therefore, living rooms must be both beautiful and inviting / comfortable. Wallpapers can make a simple but significant difference. These days, you get a wide range of elegant wallpaper options that break the monotony of painted walls. A single stand-out furniture like a beautiful sofa in monochrome can be the center piece of attraction. A contemporary chandelier can add some dazzle. When it comes to bedrooms, it is without doubt a personal space. A place dedicated to relaxation. A few effective ideas for bedrooms could be to include a stylish rug on the wooden floor. You could even sprinkle a couple of casual pillows on the bed. Chic curtains or blinds, scented candles, and sculptures can add to the serenity of the bedroom. These days, there is no dearth of options available to make your place look and feel luxurious. If you are a DIY kind of a person, you will probably love the whole experience of designing your luxe interiors. If not, there are several talented designers who can bring your dream home alive. All in all, luxury homes are right on top of the upper middleclass wish-list. The sense of pride, joy and accomplishment a beautiful home creates is unparalleled.
